Hoops Notebook: Steele's status 'doubtful'

Coming off a crushing loss to Auburn on Saturday, the Crimson Tide face a do-or-die showdown tonight in Tuscaloosa against the Ole Miss Rebels who currently hold a share of the lead for the SEC West. The importance of the game to the Tide's post-season hopes certainly isn't lost of head coach Mark Gottfried.

"Like every game, this time of year everywhere in the country, this game is huge," said Gottfried. "We know that. Our players know that. We've got to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Auburn, and I think our guys will do that. I think they'll come in ready to practice and get their minds mentally ready to go and where they need to be. We've got a lot of respect for Ole Miss. They beat us earlier in the year over there. We've just got to keep fighting. And I think that's where our guys are mentally."
