Camp phenom to attend Alabama Junior Day
His Atlanta Nike Camp performance drew reactions ranging from shock to disbelief, but Northview standout Spencer Pybus's testing numbers are very much real - as is his talent on the field. Pybus shattered the camp's all-time SPARQ rating, which is a series of 10 tests that measure football-specific athleticism.
"He isn't just a weightroom warrior, he can play some football," said Northview coach Chip Harris. "He is the complete package of athleticism, character and grades."
Pybus's 114.05 SPARQ rating beat the old record held by Oregon State freshman Tom Hansen with the help of an amazing 39 repetitions of 185 pounds on the bench press, an electronically timed 4.55 40-yard dash, a 40.6-inch vertical and a 4.31 time on the shuttle run.
