Guard position suddenly not as deep

Last July the Georgia basketball program had an embarrassment of riches at the guard position with seven returning guards who all had played significant college minutes at Georgia. Flash forward to mid-February and the Bulldogs are down to only four players following the tragic death of Kevin Brophy last summer, the transfer of Channing Toney at the beginning of the season, and the knee-injury to Mike Mercer.

Head coach Dennis Felton believes the four guards left can handle the increased minutes in the home stretch of the 2006-07 season.

"We had five guards to play three positions and now we have four guards to play three positions.
