Inside look at the 2007 recruiting class

Addressing Needs

Going into the 2007 recruiting season the Gamecock coaches wanted to upgrade the talent of the defensive front, and they did just that bringing in seven quality prospects, several of which figure to make an immediate impact. Four of those prospects have already enrolled and will go through spring practice.

Headlining the defensive line class are four-star defensive end prospects Cliff Matthews and Travian Robertson. Both are members of the Rivals100 and chose USC after hard fought recruiting battles with Georgia, (Matthews) and Clemson (Robertson). Both have the size, speed and athleticism to make immediate contributions in 2007.
