Tigers falter at home; lose third straight

According to Auburn head coach Jeff Lebo, the Tigers' formula for winning in the Southeastern Conference is simple. It's all about effort.

AU can't just show up for games and expect to get by on talent. To make up for it, the Tigers have to play harder than their opponents. And they certainly can't give away scoring chances.

Saturday against Mississippi State, Auburn did both. And the Tigers paid the price, losing 91-83 to fellow SEC West cellar-dweller Mississippi State.

The loss, AU's third in a row, drops the Tigers into fifth place in the West standings, a half-game behind fourth-place MSU.
