'Perfect' visit for Coy

St. Joseph's (Mo.) Benton High forward John Coy is having an outstanding junior season, averaging 27.5 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks per game and leading his team to 16-3 record through the weekend. On Saturday, he took an unofficial visit to Arizona State with four members of his family to see the school that provided him with his first scholarship offer.

"I met with a lot of people," Coy said. "The [athletics director], academics people, weight trainer, nutritionist, an honors college professor. We basically spent the whole day on campus. They had it really well planned out and the whole thing was top notch. Then the (ASU versus Washington State) game was great. It was my first Division I basketball game that I've ever gone to. The crowd was great, everything was perfect. They (ASU fans) know coach Sendek is a great coach and the ball is going to really start bouncing their way."
