Longhorns looking to get back on track
The Texas Longhorns are reeling coming off of back-to-back road losses to Oklahoma State and Villanova. On Wednesday night in Lincoln, Texas will have a final chance to get a win on the three-game road trip against a 12-5 Nebraska team that is 1-2 in Big 12 play.
The Cornhuskers are coming off of a 71-50 home win over Colorado in which 6-foot-11 junior center Aleks Maric scored 28 points and pulled down eight rebounds. It was the first conference win for Nebraska after dropping games to Iowa State (71-62) and Oklahoma (70-53) on the road.
Nebraska is led by Maric, who averages 17.5 points and 7.6 rebounds. The Cornhuskers have started four guards around Maric for the majority of the season including 5-8 senior point guard Charles Richardson, who is averaging six assists per game.
Five members of the eight-man rotation for Nebraska are freshmen and sophomores with all of them being guards.
The 13-5 Longhorns travel to Lincoln having struggled mightily in Saturday's loss to Villanova, but are 3-1 in Big 12 play. Point guard D.J.
