No backcourt

In LSU's last road game, its inside players were dominated in a lopsided loss at Washington.

The Tigers opened their Southeastern Conference schedule at Alabama on Tuesday night. This time, the perimeter players were no-shows as the Crimson Tide whipped LSU 71-61.

In the first half, the Tigers' starting backcourt of Garrett Temple and Dameon Mason produced no points. Terry Martin came off the bench and made a field goal with 1:48 remaining.

Meanwhile, Alabama knocked down seven 3-pointers to take a 35-26 halftime advantage. Alonzo Gee provided the spark by making five shots from behind the arc, most against Tasmin Mitchell.
