Pattersons keeping close eye on Wildcats
Two-time defending West Virginia AAA state champion Huntington High School needed a little boost to beat DeMatha (Md.) after a sluggish start in Saturday's nationally televised game. Buster Patterson, father of Huntington star Patrick Patterson, did everything in his power to help, including losing his voice from cheering.
The Highlanders came from behind to post a 74-62 victory, moving to 10-0 on the season. Patterson, the nation's No. 14 prospect, put in a typical day's work with 14 points, 16 rebounds and three blocked shots. A day later and his voice still recovering, Mr. Patterson took some time to update his son's high-profile recruitment.
