Notebook: 'D' comes up big for Auburn, again

New year, new shoes, but same formula for Auburn: Control the ball on offense and let the defense do the work.

It's a system the Tigers used to reel off 10 wins in the regular season. The same one they used Tuesday in Dallas to get No. 11.

Auburn's defense held Nebraska to 230 total yards, the Cornhuskers' second-lowest total of the season, and came up with a crucial stop in the game's final minutes to capture a 17-14 win in the 71st annual AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic.
