The year in review: March and April

Our look-back at 2006 continues, as looks at the key happenings from March and April, including links back to the stories we wrote about the events at the time.

March 1: A late-season surge from the basketball teams caps with a 77-62 victory at Ole Miss, the Commodores' sixth road win and third-consecutive away from Nashville.

March 2: Running backs coach Kenny Carter adds "recruiting coordinator" to his responsibilities, taking over for the departed Turner.

March 3: A massive power outage at Hawkins Field finally ends, as Parker Hanks blasts the team's first home run in Vandy's ninth game. However, the Commodores, who are still hitting under .200 as a team, fall 3-2 to Ball State ace Ben Snyder, who will be drafted in the fourth round by San Francisco in the June draft.
