Tide faces next big road game
The Crimson Tide's first road trip of the season didn't go as well as Mark Gottfried had hoped with the Tide coming up short against Notre Dame. This Wednesday, the Tide head to Raleigh to face North Carolina State and Gottfried doesn't expect the task to be any easier.
"I think this is going to be a great challenge for us to go on the road," said Gottfried. "I think our guys want to go on the road and play a very good North Carolina State team. We've got a full plate. They're a very good team and we need to play well."
One issue the Tide could be facing is playing without Ronald Steele who is still recovering from an ankle injury he sustained against Notre Dame.
"I would like to know sooner than game time. We'll see how he does today and tomorrow in practice. We'll see if he's got any bounce in his step. Obviously this is a great intersectional game and I know he wants to play very badly. We'll watch him and make a decision on Wednesday."
Playing without Steele has been a trial for the Tide the last few weeks but Gottfried believes it has helped develop more depth for his young team.
