Defense propels LSU over Oregon St.

The on-court results for LSU against Oregon State on Sunday night were familiar.

Not surprisingly, the offensive production primarily came from Glen Davis, Garrett Temple and Tasmin Mitchell. When the Tigers knocked down some shots from the perimeter, they were able to build a comfortable lead.

LSU withstood a second-half barrage of 3-pointers from the Beavers to come away with a 60-53 road victory.

Even though Oregon State sank eight second-half 3-pointers, the Tigers' main staple - defense - was the reason for the victory.

The game was basically decided during a 12-minute stretch in which the Beavers made just three shots. With 2:31 remaining in the first half, Kyle Jeffers made a basket to tie the score at 20.
