Clemson CB commit shines at Shrine
SPARTANBURG, S.C.- High Point (N.C.) Andrews cornerback Marcus Gilchrist has shown that he is among the top prospects in the country at his position during practice for the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas this week.
The Clemson commit has been outstanding in coverage and has shown off the speed and ball skills that make him a potentially special standout on the college level. Based on his week of practice, it would come as no surprise if the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder made a big play or two for the North Carolina squad in the annual all-star game against South Carolina, which kicks of at 1 p.m. Saturday.
"The experience is good," he said. "I've been able to meet some of the top players from South Carolina and top players from North Carolina."
"My goal is just to go out there and play as hard as I can and do the best I can," he said. "Because these are the best players from North and South Carolina."
