Gillispie's track record speaks for itself

Texas A&M coach Billy Gillispie has been a head coach in Division I for four years, and his past three years have something in common.

All of his teams have finished strong.

In 2004 Gillispie's UTEP team finished its worst to first turnaround by finishing the season on a 6-2 run, eventually earning a NCAA tournament bid and taking fourth-seeded Maryland to the wire, losing 86-83.

In 2005 Gillispie took the Aggies from 0-16 in the Big 12 conference to 8-8 and 21-10 overall, earning a turnaround matched just three times in NCAA history. The Aggies ended their run with in the quarterfinals of the NIT.
