Field General: Senior Paul Thompson (6-4, 210) started his career at Oklahoma playing quarterback, but moved to wide receiver midway through the 2005 season after highly-touted redshirt freshman Rhett Bomar was put in charge of running the Sooner offense. Thompson had actually worked himself up to the top of the wide receiver depth chart when Bomar was dismissed from the squad in August for violation of NCAA rules. Thompson moved back to quarterback after Bomar's dismissal and guided the Sooners to the South Division championship. Thompson has completed 61.5 percent of his passes this season for 2,169 yards and 18 touchdowns.
