KU cruises past Towson, 87-61

Freshman Darrell Arthur connected on 10-of-12 field goals and scored 26-points to pace the Hawks. However, Bill Self wasn't completely happy with KU's performance.

"I thought it was a good, average performance, because I think you should try that hard everyday," said Self. "It was a good effort, which should be the standard. Anything less than that is not very good, but we gave good effort. We didn't play great, but we gave great effort.

"Guys were a little tight early, that's probably because of the way Wednesday went," he added. "All in all, it was a good step in the right direction."

Unlike last week's performance against Oral Roberts, the outcome of Sundays game was decided before the halftime buzzer sounded. Towson managed to make a game of it early on, but with 2:00 minutes left in the first half, the Jayhawks had rolled to a 38-25 lead.
