Attitude adjustment puts Irish among elite
As the Notre Dame football team left the field at Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix on the night of the Dec. 28, 2004 Insight Bowl, hope and optimism were in short supply.
The Irish had just dropped their third straight game, the last two by a combined 48 points. Tyrone Willingham had been fired. Defensive coordinator Kent Baer had filled in. Charlie Weis was more than a month away from arriving in South Bend.
