Bruins thinking about now

The Bruins have their last chance in the regular season to win one on the road this Saturday against a reemerging Arizona State football team. The practices this week were sharp and for good reason. There is no turning back. UCLA needs one more victory become bowl eligible out of their last two games either this Saturday against the Sun Devils or on December 2nd in the Rose Bowl against archrival USC.

Coach Karl Dorrell as always spent time with the beat reporters after practice.

With a young team that hasn't won on the road. It may be getting ahead but how important is a win to prepare these guys for next year?

Dorrell: "I don't look at it that way. I think it is important to prove that we can do it. Right now what is driving us over these last two or three games are how good we can play in difficult circumstances.

"We proved we could be a good team last week at home, now it's on the road. We think we can do it. Let's make it happen. So we are kind of challenging ourselves that way.

"It is all about this game, this week, getting it done this year. Because in all fairness, I have seniors that want to go out the right way. I don't want them thinking about what we're thinking about a year from now.

"It's about this year finishing up for them, too. Plus it is getting us into a bowl and all those things in a positive way. That's kind of what we have been talking about."
