Handing out the grades in Lincoln

Quarterback

Some have wondered why Chase Daniel has escaped blame for Missouri's last two losses. He doesn't escape it today. Quite simply, this team needs Daniel to be sharp to win. He wasn't sharp on Saturday. The first half was fairly ugly. He held on to the ball a split second too long on a critical third-down sack that effectively ended Missouri's chances. Even on fourth and 22, Daniel had an open receiver, but missed him by three yards. There are going to be days like this for quarterbacks, especially those that have started just ten games. It just came at a terrible time for the Tigers.

Final Grade: D+

Tailbacks

Consider the question answered. Tony Temple is the best back on this team and he looked like it on Saturday. If Missouri had been in a closer game, he might have had a chance to make a real difference. As it was, tough to find much to argue with.
