Smith getting better every day
Reggie Smith practiced for the second day in a row on Tuesday but wasn't without pain during practice.
"Today it felt pretty good. I got warmed up and it felt pretty good. Then I got in one-on-ones and stuff like that and it didn't feel to good. By Saturday I think it will feel a whole lot better," said Smith.
Smith said he expects to see full-time action on Saturday as he is recovering from cracks in his tibia as opposed to a bruised knee. Stoops told reporters Smith had a knee bruise following the Sooners 24-3 victory over Colorado, but Smith explained the full injury after Tuesday's practice.
"It's real difficult. I think most people think it's a bruised knee but actually during Iowa State I was out there playing on one of the punt returns and my humorous (upper arm) bone hit my shin bone and there's cracks in my tibia so it's my leg more than my knee," explained Smith.
Smith is going through a lot of pain as he tibia goes through the healing process. But the OU training staff is trying to give him as much rest as possible outside of practice.
