Travis Reier's Top 10 Tiders

The following is a list of Top 10 Tiders for Week 6 of the 2006 football season. Every Wednesday, BOL senior writer Travis Reier lists his top 10 Tide performers. In effect, the list serves as a week-to-week ranking of Alabama's most valuable players.

1. DJ Hall Last Week: 2
Moves to the top spot on the strength of third straight 100-yard receiving performance -- joining Freddie Milons as the only other receiver in UA history to accomplish the feat. In those three games, Hall had 19 catches for 385 yards (128.3 ypg) and two
touchdowns. Hall's four touchdown receptions this season have averaged 39 yards per play.

2. Antoine Caldwell Last Week: 3
Six more catches for 57 yards and a touchdown in the win over Duke. Brown leads the SEC with six catches per game and ranks third in the SEC in receiving yards (83.8 ypg) and fourth in all-purpose yards (89.2 ypg).

3. Keith Brown Last Week: 2
Caldwell has played 387 of a possible 408 snaps on offense this season and has graded out at 90 percent or better in all six games. Has 18 consecutive starts to his credit.

4. Kenneth Darby Last Week: 7
Selected as the Tide's defensive player of the week after recording four tackles, including one for loss, and two quarterback hurries against Duke. Gilberry leads all defensive linemen with 259 snaps, including a season-high 51 snaps against Arkansas and Duke.

5. John Parker Wilson Last Week: 5
Six straight games with 200-plus yards passing. Wilson is on pace to throw for nearly 3,000 yards this season, which would establish the
single-season school record. The sophomore currently ranks fourth in the SEC in total offense (234.2 ypg) and seventh in pass efficiency (140.3) this season.

6. Wallace Gilberry Last Week: 4
Smith has played a team-leading 417 snaps this season, including special teams. Led the offense in snaps with 68 against Duke. Recognized by Rivals.com this week as the nation's top true freshman.

Darby eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the first time this season in Alabama's win over Duke. Needs 653 yards to break the UA career rushing record, which is currently held by Shaun Alexander.

Eight tackles and a pass breakup against Duke. The senior has started all six games this year and leads the UA defense in snaps (352), total tackles (28) and solo tackles (21).

10. Simeon Castille Last Week: 9
Mitchell scored his first collegiate touchdown with a 50-yard interception return in the Tide's win over Duke. Mitchell has 17 tackles, including 14 solos, and is tied with Castille for the team
