One third of the way through the season the identity of this Trojan squad can be defined by their young and athletic defense.
USCFootball.com talked with cornerback Terrell Thomas, a veteran on the defensive unit, about creating more turnovers, the breakdowns against Washington State and what the cornerbacks are taught to do when the ball is in the air.
Thomas is only a junior, but he is by far the most experienced member of the Trojan secondary.
So far Thomas has been impressed with the play of some of the younger guys, especially the freshmen.
"I think they are doing real good," Thomas said after Wednesday's practice. "Taylor Mays is learning every week and progressing, getting real comfortable with the defense. You can see it in his technique and his overall swagger like when he is blitzing."
