Jackson enjoys VT visit despite loss

Richmond, Va., Varina defensive end Jamar Jackson made an official visit to Blacksburg on Saturday. Despite the Hokies lopsided 38-27 loss to Georgia Tech, the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder enjoyed his visit to Tech.


"I had a great time," he said. "I got up there around noon on Saturday. While I was there, I talked to coach Wiles. It was great to get to know him better and talk about my position. He was just telling me about why they like and are recruiting me. He didn't really discuss any chance of playing early, but he did say he likes my frame and body a lot and thinks I can make an impact. He compared me a lot to Cornell Brown because he was real athletic and thin when he arrived at Tech.
