Notebook: Dropped TD pass big for Auburn
It was déjà vu. Almost. The only difference was six points. A big difference.
Midway through the fourth quarter with Auburn up 24-10, South Carolina quarterback Syvelle Newton found tight end Jared Cook open down the middle of the field for a 25-yard touchdown pass.
Five minutes later, Newton again found Cook running alone in the AU secondary and it appeared as though South Carolina was an extra point away from tying the game. This time however, the redshirt freshman let the ball slip through his hands.
