Sooners, Ducks play one more time
What: Oklahoma at Oregon
Where: Autzen Stadium (54,000); Eugene, Ore. When: September 16, 2006
Time/TV: 2:30 p.m. CT, 12:30 PDT/ ABC
Series history: OU not only leads the series, they are 6-0 all-time against the Ducks.
Head Coach: Mike Bellotti has 92-42 record, and is now in his 12th season with the Ducks. Last week's victory over Fresno State moved Bellotti to the top of the ranks for coaching victories at Oregon. He has a .686 percent winning percentage.
Oregon's top offensive player: Jaison Williams (6-5, 243) is built more like a standout linebacker than a wide receiver. The sophomore is rare combination of size and speed. Williams set Oregon records for wide receivers by power cleaning 341 lbs., squatting 455 lbs. squat, while running the second fastest time by a wide out in the 40, 4.68 seconds. If the tests translate to the field, he could be dangerous. Last week, Williams had six catches for 106 yards.
Greatest area of strength for the Oregon's offense: The Ducks' offense is balanced, making it hard to game plan against. For the season, the team has 465 yards on the ground and 476 through the air. The team has also rushed for 22 first downs, while throwing for another 25 on the season.
Dangerous Dennis Dixon: The play of dual-threat quarterback Dennis Dixon (6-4, 196) decides the fate for the Ducks' offense. During the 2005 Ducks' winter workouts, Dixon broke Akili Smith's eight-year-old 40-yard dash record with a 4.49. After battling for the starting position in 2005, due to an injury to then starter Kellen Clemens, Dixon was 33-for-36 for 240 yards for the Ducks, last week against Fresno St.
