Hester misses practice Wednesday

Jacob Hester, one of LSU's most versatile players, was not in uniform for practice Wednesday afternoon due to a leg injury.

"Jacob has a contusion, a bruise," said Miles in his post-practice media session. "We thought we'd hold him out today."

Hester is considered by Miles to be one of the best all-around players on the team. Currently, he is the starting fullback and the second-unit tailback. Hester, who also plays in many one-back sets, is a member of numerous special teams.

The second fullback is Shawn Jordan, who saw his most action of his career last Saturday against Arizona. Other fullbacks are Quinn Johnson and Steven Korte, who is recovering from a knee injury.

Tight end Keith Zinger, who has been hospitalized with a stomach ailment, is not expected to make the trip to Auburn.

"Keith is out of the hospital," Miles said. "He looks good. It would be a stretch to get him on the plane to Auburn."
