Walker could become a Cat this fall

Cincinnati high school basketball superstar Bill Walker, ranked as the sixth-best player in the 2007 recruiting class by, may not be part of the 2007 recruiting class after all. When the Ohio High School Activities Association ruled this summer that Walker had exhausted his high school eligibility, the standout player began to examine the possibility of graduating early from high school.

Walker coming to a Division I school as a basketball player prior to the previously expected summer of 2007 may now be a realistic possibility. This is a result of the ruling against the 6-foot-6 small forward that stated he was not eligible to play high school hoops as a senior because he had played as a freshman.

That decision appears to be leaving high school early. Following the OHSAA ruling, it was discovered that Walker needed a high school English credit and another elective to earn his diploma. He is in the process of earning those credits in an accelerated program.
