Bruins sluggish in 26-16 win
It wasn't pretty, but UCLA came away with a 26-16 victory over an inspired Rice team that played hard for 60 minutes of football without letting up. The Owls even played without their starting quarterback and though never had the lead made things very uncomfortable for the Bruins.
After a week when sophomore quarterback Ben Olson was the toast of the town, due to an unorthodox Rice defense, he looked confused and every bit a quarterback who is still learning.
