Highlights of Oklahoma's 24-17 win over UAB

It wasn't the prettiest start to a season under head coach Bob Stoops, but Sooner fans can think back a year and will gladly take an attractive 1.000 in the win percentage column rather than a nasty zero.

The first season opener for offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson, and second for quarterback Paul Thompson had moments of real flash and class. However, four turnovers were nearly the end of the Sooners bid to start the season the right foot, especially considering a defense that struggled to live up to it's pre-season hype.

Unsurprisingly it was Oklahoma's current 'Superman', Adrian Peterson, that helped them grab a solid, if unspectacular, win against Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday night in front of a sold out Memorial Stadium. The highlight of the evening was of course a simple dump pass from Thompson to Peterson which due to a few blocks and nice moves was turned from nothing into an 69-yard electrifying touchdown.

As a new feature of we'll be offering highlights of each Sooner game, take a look at the Sooners 24-17 win here:
