20 Fearless predictions for the 2006 season

Last year didn't go so well for the 'Fearless 20' but this year I'm expecting that the surprises have already happened and the season should play out as things would indicate. There is experience at a lot of key positions particularly on defense that was marred with youth and injuries in 2006.

So without further ado here is this year's Fearless 20 for Oklahoma football.

1. Oklahoma will win against UAB

OK, so I just wanted to make sure I started off with a winner, just like the Sooners. I'm virtually guaranteed of going 1-for-1. Hey I batted below the Mendoza line last year; I need all the help I can get.

2. Jermaine Gresham will break Trent Smith's record for touchdown receptions in a season (6).

Oklahoma hasn't had a weapon like Gresham at tight end, since well, Smith. With the emergence of the super freshman from Ardmore this fall it seems a dead set lock that the big man will be catching frequent passes from Paul Thompson this fall. Nowhere will his massive 6-foot-6, 250-pound frame be more useful than in the corner of the end zone.
