Youthful offensive line growing up fast
A year ago one of the biggest thorns in the side of Oklahoma football fans was the inexperience of the offensive line. With a season of experience under their belts many role players will quickly step into the spotlight this season with high expectations and an even greater need across the offensive line.
Youngstown, Ohio native and current Oklahoma sophomore offensive tackle Branndon Braxton will be one of the players asked to produce more this season. After starting three games early last season Braxton saw his action decrease as the season progressed. He did, however, spend plenty of time on the field in a back-up role which gave him experience valuable to a sophomore starting across the offensive line.
SoonerScoop.com staff writer Matt Hensley caught up with Braxton to get his feel on the current situation across the offensive line and his outlook on the offense altogether for the upcoming season.
SoonerScoop.com: What's your opinion of the two JUCO transfers, Sherrone Moore and Brandon Walker, so far this fall?
Braxton: They've come and done pretty good. They're both running first team right now so of course they're coming in and playing hard every down. We're just coming out here together and trying to make everything right. We need to come together and focus on going out and having a great year.
SS.com: How do you feel the offense has progressed over the fall?
Braxton: The offense has come a long way since the beginning of two-a-days until now. There were a lot more dropped snaps at the beginning, but now with the season not too long away we're concentrating more and we're focused on the things we need to do. Everything has come together really good.
