NU Notes: Huskers have some corner concerns

Nebraska's situation at cornerback has clearly become the biggest concern as fall camp comes to an end.

The Huskers have already lost potential first round draft pick Zackary Bowman for the entire 2006 season with a torn ACL and fellow returning starter Cortney Grixby is playing with a hard cast on his right hand protecting his dislocated thumb.

To make matters worse, newcomers Andre Jones (hamstring) and Anthony West (ankle) haven't been able to take very many reps this week in practice because of injuries.

NU has already addressed their corner concerns by moving senior Isaiah Fluellen and junior Tyrell Spain over from receiver at the start of camp when Bowman went down. However, Fluellen is also playing with a hard cast on his right hand similar to Grixby's.

The only corner who currently is 100 percent healthy or not completely new to the position is junior Titus Brothers, but he has floated back and forth from corner to safety the last two seasons.
