Practice report: Defense rules the day

With Friday morning's practice over, the Tigers have now been in fall camp for one full week. The Tigers wrapped up week one with a hard-hitting practice dominated by the defense. was on hand as always.

*David Overstreet was back in limited action, wearing the red pullover, as opposed to a full red jersey.

*Chase Coffman made two or three fantastic catches early on. We almost don't even report this. It is just what we expect.

*Jared Perry looks incredible. He pulled a stop and start move on one route that absolutely left Darren Meade standing still. Perry looks like he runs great routes and he's fast.

Yes, he's small, but he might just have to get on the field this season. Missouri is working him in with the punt returners more and more. Even Tiger broadcaster Mike Kelly came over to me midway through practice and said, "How about this Perry kid?"

*The first joke took a little longer than we expected, but it finally happened. After walk-on receiver Forrest Shock made a catch, an unidentified Tiger screamed, "Run Forrest!"
