Goodman has a one track mind
Since becoming a Georgia Bulldog, Demiko Goodman's been able to work his way into the mix with Georgia's track and field team. The sophomore from Newnan feels that the time has come for him to do the same with his primary sport as a Bulldog at receiver for the football team.
"I've been here two years and just gotten work in the system," Goodman said. "I think it's time to prove myself as a football player."
Goodman is coming off shoulder surgery during the off-season, a procedure causing him to miss participating in the sport that he's had success in with the Bulldogs, track and field. Goodman's shoulder, which caused him to miss the outdoor track season, is fully recovered, putting him in position to compete for playing time at split end when preseason camp starts Saturday afternoon.
The decision to pass up track season was actually an easy one for Goodman.
"It wasn't a [hard] decision," Goodman said. "I knew I had to get focused on football and get better and that's what I came here for."
