Romine loves UA visit

Oklahoma offensive lineman Matt Romine is considered to be one of the top tackle prospects in the country and he has the list of offers to prove it. This summer, Romine, 6-foot-6, 285-pounds, has been on a tour of college campuses to try and help him narrow his list to five and Monday Alabama received his second to last trip.

"Me and my dad got to Tuscaloosa around 2 PM. One of our flights was delayed and we missed our connector so we were late but stayed about 6 or 7 hours and learned a lot about Alabama and saw pretty much everything," Romine said. "Coach (Dave) Rader was there to meet us and he has known my family for a long time so we got a chance to catch up and have lunch. That was nice and he gave us an introduction to what we could expect during the day.

"The first place they took us was to the stadium which was awesome. I loved it. It was great before they added on and even better afterward. I also saw where they are going to do their Walk of Champions and that is going to be cool. We also saw the new suites and walked on the field.

"We toured the athletic center and I saw that everything at Alabama was either new or only a couple of years old. They have great facilities and have done a lot to make their athletes more comfortable. Their new dorms and cafeteria are all right near each other which is convenient.

"I went to the museum and saw all the All-Americans they have had and how much tradition is there for Alabama. That was very impressive. I also met with the academic support person and went over what I can expect if I go to school there. Everything was top-notch."
