Super Showcase: Day One

The Disney Wide World of Sports complex is the host to the Super Showcase. This year the showcase has a loaded field with some of the top players in the country. On Monday numerous players stood out including Lonnie Hayes, DeJuan Blair, Nick Calathes, Dante Jackson, and others.

The first games of the day got going at noon.Dante Jackson was playing with the Kentucky Hoop Stars against YOMCA out of Memphis. Jackson battled foul trouble in the first half on his way to an average game. He was going to the basket well and making plays when in the game, but because of those fouls he sat out almost the entire first half.

Jackson indicated that he is very close to making a decision. He has Xavier and Dayton at the top of his list, and he will decide very early in the month of August. Coaches from Xavier, Dayton, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas State, and others were on hand to watch Jackson play.

A new look All-Ohio Red squad got off to a good start by beating Boo Williams. Since the last time All-Ohio was playing they have added Nate Miles, James Davis, and Keenan Ellis. All three of those players are now starters. Boo Williams was playing without Patrick Patterson and Chris Wright who were on the bench in tee shirts and sandals. No word was given as two why the two Boo Williams studs did not play.
