Arkansas LB considering offer from Wildcats
Kentucky is one of four scholarship offers for Springdale, Ark., prospect Jamie Jones, but the three-star linebacker says he needs to learn more about UK before moving it toward the top of his list.
"I talk to (Kentucky) from time to time, but I haven't been there to see the school and I've only talked to a couple of the coaches," said Jones. "I have no problem with Kentucky; I just haven't seen the campus or met many of the coaches."
While he doesn't know much about the football program, the student-athlete tutorial services could be a boost to UK's chances. Jones spoke frankly about the importance of academics in the recruiting process.
"I'm one of those guys that's going to need help with school, helping me with classes," he said. "So I'm looking for a school that's going to be able to really help me and make sure I get my degree."
Jones (6-foot-1, 215, 4.58) also holds offers from Kansas State, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. He said Kansas State and Ole Miss stand out from the rest, mostly because he has visited both campuses. If Kentucky wants Jones, getting him to visit will be crucial.
