He's a Wildcat

The Wildcats' 2007 recruiting class is one step closer to being complete, as 2007 combo guard Laval Lucas-Perry just publicly committed to the University of Arizona at a press conference at Powers Catholic High School in Flint, Mich.

"The decision was very difficult, however, after much thoughtful consideration, and with great excitement, I have selected and committed to the University of Arizona," said Lucas-Perry.

The 6-foot-3, 195-pound athlete had offers from schools such as Arizona, Michigan and Michigan State but the lure of staying close to home - despite having a father who starred at nearby University of Detroit and a sister who is a captain of the Michigan State women's basketball team - wasn't stronger than the appeal of being coached by Lute Olson.

Lucas-Perry, rated just three stars by Rivals.com, has largely flown under the radar. However, his family has never worried about his ranking and neither did the UA coaches.
