Does Auburn now lead for Hoover d-tackle?

Hoover, Ala., High defensive lineman Josh Chapman was one of several top prospects visiting Auburn this past weekend. The 6-foot-1, 280-pounder had participated in the Tigers' June camp, so this weekend he and his mother decided to tour the campus, facilities and meet with the Auburn coaches.

"It went good. I thought it was better than any other visit so far," said Chapman, who is rated a three-star prospect and the No. 14 overall in-state recruit by Rivals.com. "We got there around 9:30 and met a couple of players. I went up to (recruiting) coach Terry Price's office and then went on a tour of the facilities."

Following the tour of the campus, Chapman met back up with Price and then sat down with defensive line coach Don Dunn.

"We went back to coach Price's office and watched video. Then I talked to coach Dunn for a good while," he said. "We talked about playing time, how they will need noseguards after some guys leave. They'll have two seniors next year and I could compete right when I get in."
