Catchings names a leader

Escondido, Calif., receiver Darrell Catchings has steadily seen his recruitment pick up over the course of the summer, and with three offers on the table wouldn't mind seeing more. Catchings, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver, earned second team All-CIF honors for his junior season with his speed and hands, and has been seeing attention from PAC-10 as well as Mountain West schools so far.

For Catchings, the mail hasn't slowed down a bit in the recent months. Said Catchings, "I've been talking to a couple of schools. Oregon St., Colorado St., San Diego St, Colorado, Cal, UNLV and Idaho St."

With offers on the table from Oregon St., San Diego St. and Utah the speedy receiver already has some nice options. With most schools looking to take Catchings as a receiver, there are some out there that see the Escondido High prospect as more of a defensive back, most likely a speedy cornerback.
