Hazelhurst's Guy committed but planning trips

Mississippi State's top commitment for 2007 apparently still plans on taking several official visits before finalizing his plans with a signature on signing day.

Jazzmen Guy, the No. 3 player overall in the state of Mississippi according to the Rivals.com Top 25, committed to MSU in early summer, but according to him his recruitment has heated up over the dog days of summer.

"It has surprised me that several schools are recruiting me harder now than what they were before I committed," Guy said Thursday. "I plan on taking visits to Florida and Miami for sure, and yeah Mississippi State also."

Since his commitment the talented defender has picked up additional offers to Memphis and South Carolina to go along with Miami, Southern Mississippi and Ole Miss.

"I have always liked Miami," Guy said. "When they offered I couldn't believe it, it will be fun to see some things outside the state of Mississippi."

Guy, a 6-foot-5, 260-pound athlete that runs a 4.7 forty, looks to be able to play either the end or tackle position at the next level. He is the highest ranked commitment and the Bulldogs only current four-star prospect.

"I love to attack the football," Guy said. "I love causing disruption in the opponents backfield."

Guy confirmed that he was still committed to Mississippi State.

"I'm committed, but will take other visits," Guy said. "I want to make sure I'm making the right decision."
