Patterson's stock continues to rise

Huntington (W.Va.) power forward Patrick Patterson is an example of a player who has significantly improved his national standing through his summer AAU circuit. With the busy month of July closing in on the 6-foot-8 post player some of the biggest teams in the country have come knocking on his door.

The phone calls have come in bundles from Duke to Florida to Kentucky. The attention has spread from coast to coast and after peddling a long while without picking any favorites Patterson is beginning to consider narrowing down his choices. In the meantime, everyone is still in the race.

"I'm really interested in everybody right now," Patterson said. "I'm wide open and haven't started narrowing things down, but the teams I know the best right now are Duke, Florida, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Georgia, Illinois, Pitt, and Cincinnati.
