Smith sets tentative visits
Woodland Hills, Calif. athlete Malcolm Smith hoped to use his summer break to visit some of the schools that have extended scholarship offers to help him make his college choice. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder doesn't think he'll have the opportunity to make those trips so he's started to think about the schools where he'll make official visits in the fall.
"I was planning to make some visits (this summer) but I don't know if I can anymore, so during the season when I make my officials is probably when I'll see the schools," Smith said. "I haven't talked about it with the schools but I know where I'm going to go. I know I'm going to Penn State, Cal, Michigan and I want to go to Notre Dame."
All of the schools on that list have offered except Notre Dame, but that hasn't hurt the Irish yet.
"I was really interested before, but they were talking to me and kind of backed off, I guess," he said. "I guess now they are coming back. They are the only school that I'm looking at that hasn't offered. It's just a real prestigious program and they have a lot of history."
