Knights land top local player
UCF has been racking up commitments over the last couple weeks, but none so far have been from the Central Florida area. That changed Tuesday when Josh Linam, a standout linebacker from Tavares High School, pledged to Coach George O'Leary and the Golden Knights coaching staff during an unofficial visit to the school. Linam, who had several other offers including one from Georgia Tech, is UCF's sixth commitment for the Class of 2007.
"Yesterday I committed to UCF," Linam said Wednesday afternoon. "I actually thought I was going to wait until after my season, but I felt like it was the right time. I really like UCF's potential and all the upside they have. I've always liked them since the recruiting process started. They're heading in the right direction and they have a lot of things going for them."
Linam and his family made the short drive from Lake County on Tuesday afternoon to meet with the coaching staff.
