Alabama defensive tackle on Clemson's watch list

Hoover, Ala., defensive lineman Josh Chapman has emerged onto the scene as a name to watch this summer.

The 6-foot-1, 270-pound tackle has drawn interest from Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, Kentucky, Clemson, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Mississippi, and UAB. Several weeks ago he picked up his first offer.

"Mississippi State has offered me a scholarship now," Chapman said in a Thursday night interview with Tigerillustrated.com. "That was a big offer. They're an SEC school, and they have a tradition with linemen, especially on the defensive line."

Last week Chapman camped at Ole Miss. This weekend he will again be busy, taking not one, but two stops.

"I'm going to Auburn on Saturday for a one-day camp, and then on Sunday I'm going to Alabama," he said. "I have thought about going to some more camps, but I might just rest up the rest of the month after I get through with Auburn and Alabama. That's not to say that I couldn't take some unofficial visits, but I may not go to anymore camps."
