TigerBait.com Top-30 for 2007

After 2005 and 2006 were very down years in the state of Louisiana for major division 1A college football talent, 2007 looks to be a very strong year with more than a few dozen prospects with BCS conference schools either having extending scholarship offers or very close to doing so.

Last year, TigerBait.com's preseason list of Louisiana prospects included only 20 players and it was very difficult coming up with players 12-20. This year the list was extended to 30 prospects and all are very good.

Southern Lab safety Chad Jones is the preseason number one player in Louisiana as he has everything you look for in a strong safety or outside linebacker. He has size, athleticism, speed and football sense. However, Jones is also a lefthander with a 95 mph fastball and he is expected to be drafted early in next June's major league baseball draft. While he could play two-sports easily in college, he has admitted that baseball is his first love.

Choosing Jones over John Curtis running back was not an easy decision as both are phenomenal prospects. I believe both are five star prospects and that prospects 3-12 are easily Rivals.com four-star prospect with a few beyond that have strong cases for debate.
