Georgia athlete commits to Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech received their second commitment of the recruiting season in as many days as Lincolnton, Ga., Lincoln County prospect Brandon Barden has committed to the Hokies.
Barden, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect, projects as a wide receiver or a tight end at the next level.
Barden chose Virginia Tech over offers from Vanderbilt and Kansas State along with interest from several other regional programs.
"I committed to Coach Beamer today during my visit," stated Barden. "Me, my mom, dad, and sister visited the school and we really liked what we saw. I really wanted to go to Virginia Tech even before they offered. I like the facilities there, the location, and the academics. They are really strong in engineering and that's what I'm looking to study."
