Minnesota AAU weekend review
This past weekend, two teams that had big weekends were the Howard Pulley Panthers and the Minnesota Glory. Locally the Glory won the 19 and Under division of the Nate Vanek Memorial Tournament while the Panthers reached the finals of the Nike Memorial Day Classic in Nashville, Tennessee. Led by Noah Dahlman's outstanding weekend with several double-doubles and the point play of Angelo Johnson, the Panthers lost by four in the final.
It has been a couple successful weekends for the Glory 17s who went undefeated in pool play at the qualifiers and then won the Nate Vanek Memorial Tournament in Prior Lake. A big thing for this team has been the several versatile weapons including the outside shooting of Brady Fairbanks and Scott Jesser, the bruising inside play of Alex Nelson, the defense of David Fullenwiley, the attacking off the dribble of Nate Kopka and Dan Schmitz and the all around play of Justin Stommes. This weekend they compete in the state tournament and they come into the games winning several games in the last couple weekends.
The Pulley Panthers 17s reached the Silver Division Finals of the Nike Memorial Day Classic in Nashville, Tennessee but they lost to Seattle FOH in the championship. They won five of their first six games before falling in the title game where they lost by four points after leading for the first 30 minutes.
Noah was huge all weekend recording four double doubles and averaging 15.6 points and 9.8 boards.
