Horner sticking with the Pack

A day after receiving bad news from Larry Davis, Dennis Horner told reporters after his team's first round game at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions at NC State's Dail Complex Center in Raleigh that he was still coming to NC State.


"I am probably going to stick with NC State," Horner said. "July 4 I will be here for the second session of summer school. It's not a big deal because I knew I was probably going to stick with State the whole time.


Horner scored 27 points for South Jersey Select in a 20-point loss to the loaded Pittsburgh Jots squad. South Jersey Select hung around for a half behind 17 from Horner, but the Jots pulled away in the second to win by the mercy rule.


"I shot the ball real well today to tell you the truth," Horner said. "Usually I take it to the hole more but they were real tall so I stayed outside."
